Fundraise
We rely on the generous support of the public to raise funds throughout the year.
Whether they're from Manchester or further afield, we've been truly blown away by the generosity - and ingenuity - of our fundraisers in recent years.

Some fundraising efforts are small, and some are very, VERY, big. But that doesn't change the size of the heart involved, and there's big hearts behind every single person and team who have raised money for our work over the years.
Take a look at the range of efforts below, and download our fundraising pack for ideas. Get in touch with us at welovemcrcharity@manchester.gov.uk and we'll support and promote your efforts as much as we can.

We Love MCR x SOS Dance | Let's Dance For Manchester
-
March 2023
Danielle Collier, an experienced instructor at nationally-renowned studio SOS Dance, decided to hold a sponsored dance class at Platt Lane Sports Hall Complex in support of We Love MCR. She taught over 50 women to strut their stuff to Beyoncé's 'Run The World' in a matter of hours - regardless of their dancing level!

She organised the event on her own, with some guidance from us, and saw her team of 50 strutters raised £1,300+ for We Love MCR whilst having an empowering experience with SOS! All funds went directly to our work supporting Manchester's communities and ambitious young people.

Massive thanks to Danielle and the SOS Dance team for their support. Read the story below, and take a look at the brilliant photos and videos taken of the performance!
ATG Access beat the 3 Peaks of Great Britain
Now we're definitely not advising all fundraisers to do something as courageous as this, but the ATG Access team showed everyone how fundraising slogs are done! A new charity partner for 2020, they brilliantly raised over £6,000 in the arduous event. We've experienced the 3 Peaks ourselves, so if you're planning on a similar event then ask us for tips.
MAES Chari-tea event is a success every year
The ESOL learners at Manchester's Adult Education Service have held annual fundraising events each year. The groups run stalls selling food, jewellery, crafts and henna art amongst tons of other stuff. The image at the top of this page is the former Lord Mayor Abid Latif Chohan being presented with the cheque from their 2019 event's proceeds, what a class bunch!
Heaton Park Tramway volunteers on Bonfire Night
We were very lucky to draft in the support of the incredible Heaton Park Tramway volunteer team to collect for us in Manchester's biggest Bonfire Night celebrations. If you want to host a collection for us in your local community, whether through events or online, just get in touch with us and we'll support you every step of the way.
Sid shaves!
We LOVE our partnerships! Sid works for Manchester City Council, one of our largest partners. He put a tough lockdown year behind him and used the experience to raise funds for us, and another charity close to his heart, in a novel way.

If If you run a business with amazing employees like Sid, and want to support the young people and communities of Manchester, get in touch!
Bakery donates treat proceeds
Renowned local bakers Robinson's made donations to us by selling Manchester themed treats and products!

We buzz off feeling the love from local businesses, if you're interested in raising money for us in innovative ways then get in touch at welovemcrcharity@manchester.gov.uk and we'd be happy to talk you through the opportunities of fundraising for us as a business.
Local artist makes a difference
Keen photographer and proud Manc, Shiraz, decided to put these two passions together and made a beautiful colouring book packed with Manchester landmarks. With 50% of each sale going directly to us, we thank you Shiraz.

Using your talents to make a positive impact in your own city is a fulfilling experience, and Mancs have talent falling out of their ears! Raise money for We Love MCR in your own style.
