The Spinningfields-based law firm has launched the partnership to an enthusiastic staff meeting.
Our Head of Charity, Ged Carter, welcomed JMW colleagues with a presentation outlining our aims of giving hope, heart, and opportunity to the people of Manchester when they need it most.
People learned about the great work the Charity does, and how companies are helping to fund this work., One programme that caught the imagination of many in the room was the Maurice Watkins Bursary, for aspiring lawyers, that sits within our Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund. These Bursary grants enable disadvantaged young Mancunians who aspire to become legal professionals to take their next steps to success in their ambition.
The many attendees also had the opportunity to discuss how they could make the partnership unique, and were given an exclusive preview of the exceptional upcoming events that we are planning for eager fundraisers to get stuck into…
Samantha Meakin, Senior Marketing Manager at JMW, said about the partnership:
“We’re delighted that our Manchester and Liverpool offices will be supporting We Love MCR as our charity of the year for 2023. We’re looking forward to fundraising for this great cause and helping to support the superb work We Love MCR undertakes in our local community.
We hope to come up with fun and inventive ways of fundraising as well as taking part in the challenges that We Love MCR already have set up for next year, such as having teams running the Greater Manchester Run as well as undertaking their slightly terrifying Mind-Over-Matter challenges!”
Ged Carter responded:
“I’m excited that such a major firm in the North West legal sector is choosing to work with us, and look forward to making this a fantastic team-building experience for everyone who chooses to get involved!”
We Love MCR is proud to add JMW to our network of strong, progressive partners, allowing us to make even greater differences to the lives and life chances of Manchester’s ambitious communities and residents.
