We’re thrilled to announce that our 3rd annual We Love MCR Charity Fundraising Dinner is back this Thursday, October 31st 2024.
We’re gathering at the iconic Midland Hotel, where we’ll welcome 450 guests to celebrate both Manchester and our mission to empower positive change for the communities and young people that call it home. We're glad to have the room filled with WLMC supporters from across the city's civic and business landscape, including Leader of Manchester City Council Bev Craig, and the evening will be kicked off by our Chair, the Lord Mayor of Manchester, Cllr Paul Andrews.
This year promises to be our biggest and best yet, and we’re delighted to have Ferran Soriano, CEO of City Football Group, as our keynote speaker. Ferran will share his insights into leadership, and how the recent successes of his Manchester City side are linked to the spirit of Manchester. We’re honoured to have such an immense figure join us for this special evening.
Ferran will then premiere a video that really captures the heart of what we do, featuring powerful interviews with our partners, as well as voices from community groups and young people whose lives have been transformed by our support. A unique look into how your donations help us drive real change in our city, and we can't wait to show it to all of you soon.
This year’s Dinner will pay tribute to Sir Howard Bernstein — our friend, patron, and first-ever Charity Ambassador — who passed away this year. Sir Howard's legacy shaped the Manchester we know and love, and his support established our Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund, which has since positively impacted the lives of over 300 young Mancunians. His dedication to our city and its people will forever inspire our work, and we are honoured to celebrate his enduring impact on Manchester.
For the first time, our dinner will feature a silent auction with exclusive prizes, including VIP tickets to the highly anticipated Oasis reunion concert at Heaton Park and hospitality match tickets to a Manchester City game at the iconic Tunnel Club (thanks to SJM Concerts and MCFC). With prizes like these, our guests will have the chance to take home unforgettable experiences — all while supporting our vital work in Manchester.
This event, made possible by the dedication and vision of our Trustee Aneel Mussarat (CEO of MCR Property Group), has grown each year since its debut in 2022. The evening has become a much-anticipated fixture in Manchester's calendar, one of generosity, laughter, and hope, where many of Manchester’s best come together to support a stronger, more inclusive city for everyone.
All funds raised will fuel our Manchester’s Rising Stars Fund and Stronger Communities Fund, which help young Mancunians and communities across Manchester to thrive.
